Eva Perez Obituary

Eva Perez, age 90, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. Born on March 19, 1935, to Adan and Praxedes Hernandez, Eva lived a life full of faith, kindness, and quiet strength.

Eva’s gentle heart and compassionate spirit touched everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose greatest joy was her family. A lifelong and faithful member of St. Martin Catholic Church, she served with deep devotion as part of the Altar Society and as a Eucharistic Minister, sharing her faith and love of God with her parish community.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Perez; her daughter, Belinda Mendietta; her siblings, Armando Hernandez, Linda Saldivar, and Adan Hernandez, Jr.; and her parents, Adan Sr. and Praxedes Hernandez.

Eva’s legacy of love continues through her children: Cynthia (Rod Lamos) Rodriguez, Melva (Jimmy) Smith, George (Brenda) Perez, Jr., and Lori (Brian Skaggs) Perez. She was a proud grandmother to Anthony (Christina) Rodriguez, Omar (Victoria) Rodriguez, Marisa Perez, and Emily Perez; a great-grandmother to Hannah, Hayley, and Adrian Rodriguez, and Jasmine, Cruz, and Angelique Rodriguez; and a cherished great-great-grandmother to Kylie Henscheid. Her family will forever remember her as their guiding light and source of unconditional love.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who lovingly cared for Eva throughout her later years. The compassionate staff at Premier of Alice Assisted Living—including Michelle, Eloy, Joe, Nollela, Javier, Estella, Linda, Norma, Tabitha, Eline, Nellie, Susan, Samantha, Tara, Oneida, Angelica, Mari, and Roxie—provided her with comfort and dignity each day. In her final months, the extraordinary team at Choice Health, including Evita Pena, Roxy Solis, Lydia, Crystal, Eva, and Daniel, offered exceptional and tender end-of-life care, for which the family is deeply grateful.

The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at St. Martins Catholic Church, Kingsville, Tx. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery, Kingsville, TX.

Following the funeral services, family and friends are warmly invited to a reception at St. Matins Parish Hall to continue celebrating Eva’s beautiful life and legacy of love.

Eva’s life reflected her faith, her love of family, and her unwavering kindness. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in every life she touched, and every prayer whispered in her honor.

May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones in God’s heavenly embrace.
