David Mitchell Gonerway was born on December 26, 1961, in Longview, Texas to Rosa Marie Gonerway Bradley and Willie B. Bradley, Jr.
David united with the Growing Valley Baptist Church in 2014 and was baptized.
David received his formal education from the Longview Independent School District. He graduated with the Class of 1979. He began working at an early age and ultimately enlisted in the Army.
David was blessed with three children: Nicole LaVera Gonerway Kinchen (Stacy), Davette Gonerway (Michael), and Clayland Terrance Williams.
At a special time in his life, he found the love of his life, Evelyn Joyce Cooper. Evelyn and David were married for 24 years until his demise. Evelyn brought five children into the marriage: Michael Yarbrough, Afreda Yarbrough, Tony Hill, Christy Rayson (Robert), and Charles Cooper (Kimberly).
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, David went to rest in the arms of the Lord, surrounded by family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Evelyn Gonerway, his children, his step-children, a brother, Aaron Bradley, a sister, Lista Bradley, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Lola Lovely Hayes.
