David P. Grace, 81, of West Point, IL, passed away at 2:57 am Monday, February 9, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
He was born on February 21, 1944, in Bowen, IL, to Floyd Edward and Vira Pittenger Grace. He was united in marriage to Fern R. Huls on August 29, 1964, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carthage, IL. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2021.
David was a graduate of Bowen High School. He worked as a truck driver all of his working life. He was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Bowen, IL
He is survived by three sons, Michael (Deb) Grace of Bushnell, IL, Monte (Tanya) Grace of Muscatine, IA and Matthew (Amanda) Grace of Eldora, IA; three grandchildren, Zachary (Jodi) Grace of Avon, IL, Chelsea (Marcus) Gibbs of Abingdon, IL and Kaitlin Grace of Ceder Rapids, IA, five great-grandchildren, a brother, James Grace of Libertyville, IL, numerous nieces and nephews and his significant other Jo Webster of West Point, IL.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Pete and Eddy Grace, a sister, Sally Beake, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Grace.
Cremation has been accorded. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Bowen, IL, with Pastor Dan Seibert and David Spangler officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Immanuel Cemetery near Carthage, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hugs of Hancock County.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Zachary Grace, John B. Alden, Brad Moormann, Alan Byers, Abe Huls, Dennis Rankin, Robb Wood, Marvin Tappe, Mike Rea, Roger McCormick, and Bob Wood.
