David (Dave) Watson Grear, age 79, passed away on December 19, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida. Dave was born on July 11, 1946, in Washington, D.C., to June M. Grear and Harold E. Grear. He graduated from Herrin High School in 1964 and went on to earn his degree from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He spent his career serving the Christopher, Illinois community as the owner of Town Pharmacy, where he was a trusted and familiar presence for many years. During this time, he was an active member of the Christopher Lions Club, Bearcat Boosters, and Chamber of Commerce, reflecting his commitment to community service. In 2006, Dave retired and relocated to Gulf Shores, Alabama. In retirement, he especially enjoyed traveling, playing golf and spending time with his family. Dave was married to Jackie Grear and was a devoted father to his children, Paul Grear, Todd (Rebecca) Grear, and Kathy (Brent) Clark. He was also a loving grandfather to Harry, Hunter, Gavin, Lauren, and Hannah who brought him great joy. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren; his sister, Barb Grear; and his brother, Steve Grear. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thom Grear, and his parents. Funeral services will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday January 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with Father Gabriel Sandwidi officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Dave will be remembered for his dedication to his profession, his service to the Christopher community, and his love of travel and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Christopher Lion's Club or to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
