Evelyn O. Grear
January 30, 1935 – December 10, 2025.
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Evelyn O. Grear, who was called home to God, Wednesday morning, December 10, 2025, at the age of 90. Evelyn lived a long, full life defined by strength and a love that touched everyone who knew her.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Grear; her parents, John and Anna Lychowitch; her son Joseph Grear; her sisters, Marion Konyk, Elaine Iacona, and Eleanor Bell; her son-in-law, Michael Venables; her grandson Mikey Venables; and her great-grandsons, Thomas Sauk and Kasen Sauk.
She leaves behind a beautiful and devoted family:
Daughter, Kathleen Sauk and her husband, Edward, and their family:
• Grandson, Andrew Sauk, and his wife, Nicole, and their children; Mikayla, Andrew, Aiyana, and Nolan.
• Grandson, Matthew Sauk, and his wife, Christian, and their sons; Johnathan, Conner, and Parker.
Daughter, Diane Venables, wife of late Michael Venables, and their family:
• Grandson, Kyle Venables, and his wife, Michelle, and their sons; Kyle and Roman.
• Grandson, Garrett Venables.
• Great-grandson, Michael (MJ) Venables. Son of late grandson, Mikey Venables and wife Mandy.
Daughter, Gail D'Amico, and her husband, Mark, and their family:
• Granddaughter, Cori D'Amico, and her fiancé, Stephen, and their daughter, Carsyn.
Evelyn retired from the Chester- Upland School District, where she served for many years with dedication, kindness, and a genuine commitment to helping others. She valued her work deeply and treasured relationships she formed with students, staff, and members of the community.
Evelyn's life centered on her family, whom she cherished more than anything. She took pride in their accomplishments and found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved, especially in her later years. She will be remembered for her spirit, her sense of humor, her strength, and unwavering kindness.
Though she will be missed beyond measure, her family takes comfort knowing she is reunited in Heaven with the loved ones who went before her. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
