David Jo Green, age 48, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. He was born on March 29, 1977, in Seoul, South Korea and was later adopted by his loving parents, Jerry J. Green and Kay Tillman Green from Moultrie, GA.
He was a dedicated Christian father and husband. David and his wife Leigh met as they were attending VSU in 1997 and later married in April of 2004. Their son Davis was the light of his life, and one of his favorite pastimes was watching him play sports. He was well known in our community, enjoyed coaching children’s sports, and later cared for his aging parents. Many of you knew him as “Country Dave” or “Asian Dave”. The first time you met him, you might not have expected him to sound like a country boy; that’s because he’s adopted at the age of seven, which was not an easy row to hoe. No matter how you knew him, he was an unforgettably unique and amazing man. David was also a loyal and hardworking salesman at A&L RV Sales in Lake Park, where he dedicated many years of service and built lasting relationships through his honesty, kindness, and genuine care for people.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents, James L. Green Sr., Adell Green Thompson, Odis B. Tillman, Olivia Ona Davis Tillman, and Billy and Wilma Jones; aunts and uncles, James L “Jimmy” Green Jr., Talmadge Eugene “Gene” Wynn, Mary Tillman Wynn, Janice G. Veloz, Betty Jo Green Thomas, Diane Tillman and Charles Bradford.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Leigh Jones Green of Valdosta, GA; son, Davis Anderson Green of Valdosta, GA; parents, Kay Tillman Green and Jerry J. Green of Moultrie, GA; sister Anna (Kristopher) Bolden of Athens, GA and niece and nephew, Eleanor and Alexander; mother in law, Lynn A. Phillips (Toby) of Colquitt, GA; father in law, William E. Jones, Jr. (Yvonne) of Bainbridge, GA; sisters in law, Ashley Perez (Kenny) of Albany, GA and Haley Logue (Randy) of Bainbridge, GA; aunts and uncles, Rosanne Green, Billie Tillman, Linda Tillman, Delroy Thomas, Jerry Tillman, all of Moultrie, GA, Catarino Veloz Sr. of California, and Jackie Green Bradford Jacksonville, FL; grandparents, Melvin and Lois Anderson of Jakin, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, December 7, 2025, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
