David Gresh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parsell Funeral Homes-Atkins-Lodge Chapel - Lewes on Mar. 5, 2026.
David Lee Gresh, 77, formerly of Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 16, 1948, in Reading, he was the oldest son of the late Elmer and Jane (Seyfert) Gresh, also of Reading.

David was a proud graduate of Reading Senior High School. Following high school, he answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army. A Vietnam Veteran, David completed a tour of duty from 1968 through 1970, an experience that reflected his courage and dedication to service.

After returning home, David built a long and respected career with Carpenter Technology, where he worked for 30 years in the Annealing Department before retiring. His strong work ethic and commitment were hallmarks of his professional life.

David eventually made his home in Lewes, Delaware, after spending many cherished summers at the family beach house he so dearly loved. The beach brought him peace and joy, and retirement allowed him to enjoy coastal life year-round.

An avid golfer, David loved everything about the game. Whether playing a round, watching tournaments, or talking about the latest scores and swings, golf was one of his greatest passions and a source of many happy hours.

David was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Gresh, and sister-in-law, Jill Gresh; and by his son, Michael Vernon.

David is survived by his loving wife, Amy Gresh of Lewes, Delaware; his daughters, Keena Gresh Moyer and her husband Jason Moyer of Kempton, PA; Rachelle (Vernon) McClellan and her husband Matt McClellan of Cumru Township, PA; and Jami Gresh Gipprich, widow of Cody Gipprich, of Long Neck, DE. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and joy to his life.

David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered always for his strength, love of family, dedication to his country, and passion for the simple joys of life.

Services will be held privately.
