David grew up in Fort Collins and was an avid participant in school sports. He played baseball, basketball, and football. He lettered in football at Fort Collins High School. He attended Colorado State University (CSU) and belonged to the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He also played football while attending CSU. David enjoyed all of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer, particularly hunting and camping.
David served in the Fort Collins Police Department and also had a career in IT doing programming for EDS, GM, HP, IBM and Raytheon.
David is survived by his three siblings: Chuck Gross (Marilyn), Marilyn Tucker (Ed), and Wayne Gross (Marcie). He is predeceased by his parents, Linus and Catherine Gross.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle's Peak (formerly the 55 Resort Apartments), at 500 Apex Street in Windsor, Colorado.
