David Harold Hafner, age 86, of St, Charles, passed away on November 19, 2025, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
David was born on April 4, 1938, to Harold and Luella (Alden) Hafner in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Our Lady School in 1956. He married the love of his life, Betty Lou Graves, on May 20, 1972. They shared 53 years of marriage together this year.
During his life, David worked for Dow Chemical for thirteen years before joining the Saginaw County Sheriff's Department, where he served for more than 30 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Albee Township Fire Department and, in his younger years, a Little League baseball coach.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife; children, Glen (Judy) Northrup, Vonda (Christopher Barclay, Keith (Tina) Northrup, Mark (Teri) Hafner, Neil Wright, Pamela (David) Schafer, Randy (Debbie) Wright; grandchildren, Chris, Jason, Brandi, Erika, Ryan, Gina, Holly, Shane, Cory, Ross, Trina, Brett, Tamara, John, Cody, Terry, Travis; several great grandchildren; siblings, Jean Klabak, and Janet (Ed) Springer; as well as many other loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by son, David Hafner; daughter, Shelly; stepdaughter, Cindy Tomich; brother, Tom Hafner; and brother-in-law, Frank Klabak.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-7:00pm with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30pm on Monday, November 24, 2025, at McGeehan Funeral Homes - Martin Chapel, 316 W. Broad Street, Chesaning.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 708 Sanderson Street, St. Charles. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Albee.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Family.
