David was born in Nashua on February 19, 1940, and was the son of the late Jospeh Haggerty and Lucille (Charpentier) Haggerty-Slyvester. He received his education in the Nashua School System.
For many years, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Granite State Concrete until his retirement.
