David H. Hardy fell asleep in death on October 10, 2024, in his home. He was born May 8, 1963, in Oakland, California to Howard and Viola Hardy.
David spent his early years in Minnesota. At a young age, he had a deep love for God, strengthened by observing His beautiful creation and experiencing answers to his prayers. A hard worker, he became a certified mechanic and later he used his mechanical mind to work for many years as an inventor at 3M. There, he came into contact with several employees who were Jehovah's Witnesses. Being a man who loved to talk about God, he struck up a conversation with a brother, began a study of the Bible and in 1992 he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
His love for our Creator and the Bible truths that he learned moved him to become a full-time minister (Pioneer), and soon after to serve as a Ministerial servant and later as an Elder.
Well known as a generous and loving person, he often used his time, assets and abilities giving of himself for others, especially in the many congregations he had the privilege of serving. He also volunteered for many years in the construction and remodeling of places of worship and in disaster relief. As a result, on one such project in 1994, he met his wife Karey, and they were married on December 11, 1994. The two of them simplified their lives by supporting their volunteer work with a small cleaning business, and later a small construction business, which allowed them to serve in congregations with greater needs in Minnesota, Colorado, Alaska and California. A lover of creation, one of his greatest joys was to go for scenic drives, ATVing, hiking and kayaking, always looking for "critters" big and small.
What he enjoyed the most though, was being a teacher and shepherd in the congregation. He had the greatest joy helping several to come to know Jehovah better, along with his wife. He loved to talk about the wonderful hope his Heavenly Father Jehovah had given him, a hope he cherished and looked forward to seeing realized along with his wife, Karey.
David had strong faith in the Bible's promise of a resurrection, as described at John 5:28-29. His wife, as well as his dear friends, look forward to welcoming him back in a paradise earth, free of sickness and suffering.-Isaiah 33:24.
David is survived by his wife and best friend of 30 years, Karey, and his mother in-law, Joan, who he affectionately called 'Mamacita.' He was preceded in death by his friend and father in-law, Howard, as well as his own parents.
A memorial service will be performed by David's dear friend Jaron Turkington and will be held at 2pm central time on October 19, 2024, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 687 Green Valley Dr., Mountain Home, Arkansas. It will also be available by video conference.
