David Crawford Harrison, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Mont Belvieu, Texas. He was born on May 9, 1935, in Paris, Texas, and lived a life marked by dedication to both his family and his work.
A proud veteran, David served his country as an Airman 1st Class in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he transitioned into a career in the grocery business, where he worked for approximately ten years, before spending the remainder of his career in the chemical industry until his retirement. David's quiet demeanor and soft-spoken nature belied a strong conviction; those who knew him understood that if something was amiss, he would not hesitate to voice his concerns.
David had a deep affinity for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and hunting in his younger years. He treasured the moments spent traveling with his wife and children to various destinations, including Branson, Nashville, Las Vegas, and Colorado. An avid fan of the Houston Astros, he also had a fondness for Old Country music, which resonated deeply with him and enriched his life’s experiences. Notably, he took immense joy in attending the sporting events of his grandchildren, allowing him to remain an active and loving presence in their lives.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Wanda Harrison; his son, Wesley Harrison, and wife Charlotte; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Perkins, Laramie Harrison, Lee Harrison, and Lance Harrison, as well as his great-grandchildren Levi Harrison, Landry Harrison, Lennox Harrison, Clark Harrison, Andy Harrison, Lily Harrison, and Charlee Harrison.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Fred, and Louise Harrison; his daughter, Patricia Johnson; his brothers, Ernest Harrison, Wayne Harrison, and Earl Harrison; along with his sisters, Geraldine Byrd, Frances Vitek, Jerene Pearson, Aline Young, and Margie Ricketson.
The memory of David Crawford Harrison will be celebrated during a visitation on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Tolbert Hudspeth at Faith & Family Funeral Services, located at 40847 Texas 105, Batson, Texas.
