Hector Gil-Eugene Garza III, affectionately known as "Tré," departed this life on February 2, 2026, at the tender age of 23. Born on September 8, 2002, in Houston, Texas, Tré brought joy and light to everyone around him.
Tré was a young man who lived passionately; he cherished every moment dedicated to his beloved guitar, filling the air with melodies that echoed the essence of his soul. His love for music was intertwined with the rhythmic pulse of skateboarding, mastering tricks with an ease that belied the hard work behind them. With a heart that was both humorous and kind, he lit up the lives of those around him, wrapping each interaction with a gentle warmth and a quirky joke that would linger in thought long after they parted.
Within his family, Tré was cherished beyond words. He is survived by his loving parents, Hector Gil Garza Jr. and Bethany Marie Smith, along with his devoted sister, Jessica Angelita Garza. Tré was a proud uncle to his beloved nieces, Destiny Michele Moody and Desiree Celeste Moody, who will always carry his memory in their hearts. He shared a special bond with his cousins, Joseph "JT" Tinoco, Steven Tyler Lyons, Sean Michael Lyons, and Christopher William Lyons, and found guidance and warmth from his grandparents, Hector Gil-Adalpe Garza Sr. and Linda Jane Flight Smith. His aunt, Pearl Marie Garza, remained a pillar of strength and love throughout his life. Tré leaves behind a vast network of extended family and an abundance of friends, all of whom will hold him dear in their memories.
Tré's legacy is one characterized by love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that touched the lives of many. Preceding him in death was his paternal grandmother, Ida Marie Garza, his aunt, Stephanie Michelle Smith, and his cousin, Joshua James Tanguma, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
Tré was incredibly strong, brave, and resilient, and his life-though far too short- was filled with meaning, love, and courage. He fought a long, difficult battle, and while that does not make this loss any easier, there is hope his family and friends can find some comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, free from pain and suffering. His spirit will always live on through the love his family and friends gave him, the memories shared, and the lives he impacted simply by being who he was.
As we remember Tré, may we find comfort in the memories that continue to resonate in our hearts. His visitation will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 12:00 PM. An additional gathering of love and remembrance will be held that same day from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
All services are being handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home.
