David John Harrison, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, MI, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 1, 1959, in Winchester, MA, Dave's life was a tapestry woven with generosity, kindness, humor, and an enduring spirit.

A dedicated worker, Dave had a rich career that spanned several companies, including Angle Steel, Riley’s Onion Storage, and Delton Pole Building Supplies. He ultimately retired from Marshall Plastics, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.

Above all, Dave cherished spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He was an ever-present force of love in their lives, always ready to share advice, a laugh or a story. His grandchildren—Sam (Mackenzie), Matthew, Caleb (Cailyn), Abbey, Hannah, Tarren, River, and one on the way—were a source of profound joy for him. He often delighted in their achievements and milestones, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Dave was also an avid motorcyclist. His love for his Harley was matched only by his adventurous spirit. He took pride in his many journeys, including rides out to Pikes Peak, down to Key West, and the exhilarating roads of the Dragons Tail. These adventures were not just a passion; they were a representation of his zest for life and commitment to living each moment fully.

Music was another profound aspect of Dave's life. He enjoyed guitar jam and hangout sessions with his siblings and close friends John, Marty and Kurt; taking pleasure in the camaraderie and creativity that came with sharing music. These moments brought him peace and happiness, and he used music as a way to connect with those he loved.

Dave faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience and courage. He understood the power of positivity and laughter and regarded it as the best medicine, using it to uplift not only himself but his family and friends during difficult times. He fought bravely against his illnesses, demonstrating an inspiring tenacity as he "tucked and rolled" with every hurdle thrown his way, a testament to his fighting spirit.

He is survived by his cherished children, Sally (Keith) Westerhouse and Dj (Rachael) Harrison. His love will be carried on by his children, grandchildren and his siblings, Brenda Loviska, Deborra (Bruce) Russell, and Bill (Deb) Harrison, as well as several nieces and nephews and close friends who will forever hold his memory close.

Dave was preceded in death by the love of his life, Arlene May Harrison, and his parents, William Henry Harrison and Judith Ann Harrison. He was also reunited in spirit with his father-in-law Raymond Joseph LaFountain, mother-in-law Sally Frances LaFountain, along with many other loved ones who have passed before him.

As we remember David John Harrison, Sr., let us celebrate the laughter, love, and adventurous spirit that he shared with all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts he touched and the memories he created.

Please join us to share a laugh and favorite memory of Dave at a celebration of life open house on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Gun River Conservation Club: 689 11th Street, Plainwell, MI 49080.
