Lee Andrew McGlamery, born on August 31, 1951, in Harlan, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Grand Rapids. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose life was marked by his unwavering spirit and determination, particularly in overcoming the challenges posed by partial blindness.
Lee enjoyed a rich life filled with passion for his interests and an enduring connection to his roots. He cherished many return trips to Kentucky, where he loved the beauty of nature and spent invaluable time with his family. One of his favorite places was Cumberland Falls, which he visited nearly every year, creating lasting memories along the way.
His hobbies and interests reflected his vibrant personality. Lee had a particular fondness for old cars and spent many hours working on them during his younger days. His love for collecting vintage radios and listening to classic country music brought him joy and comfort, as did his three beloved Chihuahuas—Freckles, Lulu, and Bean.
Lee was proud of the accomplishments throughout his life, especially how he never allowed his partial blindness to hinder him. His determination and resilience served as an inspiration to his loved ones, demonstrating that one's spirit and will can lead to a fulfilling life despite challenges.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Laura; sons, Christopher (Cody Sensing) and Andrew; stepdaughter, Cathy Holland (Richard Holland); sister, Christine Shilton; as well as grandchildren Parker Holland, Sara Holland, Jace Holland, Wyatt McGlamery, and many nieces, nephews, and other family members who cherished his presence in their lives.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Kitchie McGlamery; father, Lee McGlamery; brothers Ronnie, Clyde, and Don McGlamery; and sisters Onnie Gibson, Dorothy Sheldon, Louise Miracle, and Wanda Ladd.
