With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Edwin Julian Banks, who departed this life on February 27, 2026, at the age of 23.
Edwin was born on November 1, 2002, to his devoted parents Julia Banks and Charles Banks Jr. He was a bright spirit whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and determination to those around him. He shared a special bond with his siblings, Charles Edward Banks III and Jacqueline Julianna Banks. From a young age Edwin loved sports and staying active. He enjoyed basketball, swimming, running track, and during high school also played lacrosse. When he wasn't on the field, he enjoyed playing video games and spending time with friends and family. Edwin began his college journey at Michigan State University studying Kinesiology. Over time he developed a strong interest in finance and investing. Driven by ambition and vision for his future, Edwin pursued his dream of building financial freedom through disciplined investing and hard work. Edwin worked tirelessly toward his goals, often sacrificing rest and comfort in pursuit of the life he envisioned. Though his journey was filled with determination and dreams, the pressures he carried became overwhelming.
Edwin leaves behind his loving parents Julia and Charles Banks Jr., his brother Charles Edward Banks III, and his sister Jacqueline Julianna Banks. He is also survived by his uncle Benjamin James Maddox and beloved niece Ava Maddox. His grandparents Benjamin Maddox and Nita Maddox, and Lula Clayton, and was preceded in death by his grandmother Carolyn Maddox. He also leaves to his aunts Charlotte (Ricky) and Ernestine (George), along with a host of extended family members and friends.
Though Edwin's time with us was far too short, his memory, dreams, and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
