David R. Hatala passed away November 27, 2021. Beloved husband of Margaret Hatala for 21 years. Loving father of Rachel Wlodarsky (Walt) and the late Dean Hatala (Caroline), stepfather of Natalie Cavanaugh (Ken) and Nathan Prusak. Brother of Chris Rung (Jim), Debbie Muerhoff (Charlie), Mark Hatala (Cindy), and Janet Fisher (Eric). Dear grandfather of 11. David was born in Fort Madison Iowa, lived in California and Illinois before moving to Ohio. He had a love of playing sports, basketball through high school and college and especially golf, which he played throughout his life and was a member of Elyria Country Club for many years. A respected leader in the valve manufacturing industry, David was the chairman and owner of Shanrod Inc. for over 30 years. David will be remembered for his kindness, graciousness, humor, leadership, humility and strength and will be greatly missed by those who loved him most. A special note of gratitude is extended to the nurses and staff at Kemper House Strongsville, Ohio for their unending kind and compassionate care of David.
