David Charles Hawn
October 20, 1946-April 24, 2025
David was born on October 20, 1946 to Charles and Elaine (Kissinger) Hawn. He was the second of three children, having an older sister, Linda (Hawn) Buss, and a younger brother, Joel. Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister, brother, nieces Carrie (Patrick) Conley, Erin (Craig) Toth, Amy Wiles, Carmen Abadji; Tara Hawn, and nephew Jason Hawn. He has nine great nieces and nephews.
Dave was a lifelong resident of La Porte County and moved to his home near Mill Creek at the age of two. After graduating from La Porte High School in 1966, he proudly served his country as a Marine. Shortly thereafter, David began working for Hedwin Corp. in La Porte, from which he retired after 35 years.
Dave loved being in the outdoors, camping with his friends, attending sports events, NASCAR racing, and spending time with his family and friends. Some of his special friends include Don Meyer, Louis and Nancy Reese, David and Gail Hodges, Tom Koehn, and his cousin Ray Kissinger, as well as many other treasured friends.
Dave's faith was who he was. His church family (Mill Creek Baptist Church), played a very important part in his life. He had many dear lifelong friends there.
The world has lost a wonderful person with Dave's passing and he will be missed by many. May God welcome him home with open arms-his sweet, kind, good son.
