David Hayner Obituary

David M. Hayner
David M. Hayner, age 76 of Midland, passed away on Saturday morning May 3, 2025 at MyMichigan Medical Center. He was born to the late Clarence and Catherine (Geddes) Hayner in Saginaw on August 14, 1948. David served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed with the former Saginaw Steering Gear (General Motors) for over 34 years.
David, also known as Dave to his friends, and Daddy or Pappa by his family, was loved and cherished. He will be extremely missed by those that knew him. David loved life and could light up a room with his laughter and smile. He loved to meet new people, go for long rides in the country, and enjoyed taking his beloved 'boys' for a ride. David enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson (Hog) across the country and getting a cold one with friends or relaxing with his family. David loved shooting pool and had a true love and passion for collecting guns and coins. David also loved our country and what our flag stood for. You will always find a flag in the front of his house, or a book in his hands, reading American history or listening to the news. He was a member of UAW Local 699, Sanford Eagles Post 3677 and Breckenridge American Legion Post 295.
Surviving his wife, the former Robin Carey who he married on August 13, 2010; children, Michele (Raphael) Donato, Eric (Cindy) Hayner, Nicole Hayner and fiancé, Cody Tuck; step daughter, Nicole (Jordan) Ham; grandchildren, Jackson and Rylee Tuck, Fayln and Charlie Ham; brother Dan Hayner; sister Erdeen (special friend, Fred) Frank. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by sister, Carol Martzowka; step son, Cody Randolph.
Per the wishes of David, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson Miller Funeral Home. No funeral services per David's request. The family may schedule a celebration of life at a later date. Any charitable contributions in David's name can be made to Tunnel to Towers (t2t.org).
