David Hendrickson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oasis Cremation & Funeral Care on Feb. 10, 2026.
David Ordahl Hendrickson, 83, formerly of Glenfield, ND, died on January 29th, 2026, at the Veteran's Hospital in Tucson, AZ. He was born on March 9th, 1942, to Hank and Hildred Hendrickson.

He attended Concordia Collete in Moorhead, MN, graduating in 1964. He taught English and French for three years before being drafted by the Army and sent to Vietnam. After serving in Vietnam, he was stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ, where he was an instructor in military intelligence. After his discharge, he moved to Tucson where he was the co-owner of Desert Valley Office Supply. After retirement, he moved to Mammoth, AZ.

David was active in church and enjoyed singing in choirs, both at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Tucson and Oracle Union Church in Oracle, AZ. He enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and especially fishing. David's love of fishing started at an early age when his dad took David and his brother, John, to Red Willow Lake and Tolna Dam. They caught, cleaned, and ate a lot of fish! In later years, John drove to David's home in AZ and they fished Roosevelt Lake. David also visited John in Idaho where they fished the Snake River.

Other the years, the family gathered at Big Sand Lake in MN for reunions and fishing.

The brothers called each other every week to discuss fishing and politics. David always said everyone needs to have a sense of humor when talking about politics or religion.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Hildred Hendrickson, his nephew, Ryan Johnson, and numerous other relatives. He is survived by his brother, John (Sandy) Hendrickson (of Lewiston, ID), and his sister, Rachel (Dennis) Johnson (of Detroit Lakes, MN), as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He will be missed by all!

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, March 7th, at 1:30pm at Oracle Union Church (705 E. American AV in Oracle).

Donations in his memory can be made to Oracle Union Church or Oracle Community Learning Garden.
