David Herrera Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brookehill Funeral Home on Dec. 9, 2025.
David Diaz Herrera went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2025.

He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on February 17, 1931, to Especiación Herrera and Maria Diaz.

David is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Consuelo Molina Herrera.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. David retired from Kelly Air Force Base and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He had a gift for working with his hands. He enjoyed gardening, loved carpentry, and even built his own home. But his greatest joy was fishing-he never passed up a chance to cast a line.

David also had a warm, effortless sense of humor. He loved making people laugh, and his quick wit and playful personality brought so much joy to his family. Whether he was telling a story, teasing in that gentle way of his, or cracking a joke at just the right moment, he always knew how to bring a smile to the room.

David leaves behind his children:

David Herrera Jr - Stella Escalera

Richard Herrera- Anna

Rudy Herrera - Gary Hardcastle

Irma H Ramirez - Ruben

Irene H Reyes- Julian

Christopher Herrera- Janie

Grandchildren:

David Mora

Mary Frances Herrera Orrozco

Anna Marie Herrera

Richard David Herrera Jr- Allie with

great grandchild on the way

Leilani Jasmin Hinjosa - Vanessa Pina

Priscilla Ramirez

Ruben Herrera Ramirez Jr

Kimberly Reyes

Angela Reyes

Christopher David Herrera

Great-grandchildren: 12

His legacy of hard work, love, laughter, and quiet strength will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Brookehill Funeral Home from 3pm to 4pm private for family only to 8pm for public and the Holy Rosary to begin at 6pm.

The funeral staff will welcome family and friends on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 8:30am and we will depart at 9:30 for the funeral Mass at 10:00am at our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church.
