David C. Hinkle of Grandview, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Bower’s Hospice House in Beckley, just three days shy of his 77th birthday.

Dave was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and was dedicated to the preservation of the pedigree and maintaining the integrity of the American Quarter Horse breed. Dave was a mentor to many in both the electrical industry and the Quarter Horse community.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Shirley; son Allen of Grandview; son Jim and his wife Lisa of Shady Spring; granddaughter Natalie Simmons and her husband Austin of Lester; granddaughter Carson Hinkle and her significant other Cody Hunter of Shady Spring; grandson John David Hinkle of Shady Spring; twin great-granddaughters Millie and Parker Simmons; great-grandson Wesley Hunter; and sister Diane Hicks of True, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Raleigh General Hospital, Select Specialty Care at CAMC Memorial, and Bower’s Hospice House for taking such gentle care of Dave during his final days.
