David Hohendorf Obituary

DAVID JOHN HOHENDORF David John Hohendorf, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on Saturday, February 6, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan to Francis and Eileen (Zaremba) Hohendorf. He passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at My Michigan Medical Center in West Branch, Michigan. David dedicated 32 years of his life to the Chrysler Corporation, where he worked diligently as both a line worker and a supervisor. A proud graduate of the Utica High School Class of 1972, David was known for his fun-loving and caring nature, touching the lives of many around him. In his personal life, David was a passionate outdoorsman. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling, and he was an active member of the Dundee Volunteer Fire Department. One of his proudest accomplishments was being instrumental in the creation of all the snowmobile trail 911 placards in Roscommon County, reflecting his commitment to safety and the community. David is survived by his loving wife, Desiree A. Hohendorf of St. Helen, Michigan; his daughter, Malinda Hohendorf of Dundee, Michigan; and his son, David (Rose) Hohendorf of Onsted, Michigan. He was a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren: Andrew Draper, Corey Hohendorf, Ashton Jones, Elijah Hohendorf, and Madison Hohendorf. He also leaves behind his brothers, Frank (Nora) Hohendorf, sister-in-law Diane Hohendorf and Jeffrey (Kathie) Hohendorf; his sister, Kelley (Dewayne) Johnston; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good camping friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Eileen (Zaremba) Hohendorf; his brother, Randall Hohendorf; his sister, Christine Presser; and his brothers-in-law, Jake Sharon, Charles Hammond, Butch Bojarski, and Johnnie Bojarski. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation for David will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes in West Branch, Michigan. A Rosary and prayer service will take place on the same day at 5:00 PM. Fr. Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. David's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family and community will always be remembered. He will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen, MI at a later date.
