David M. Hoiles, Sr., age 75, of Risingsun, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born on February 14, 1950, in Bowling Green to the late Robert P. & Patricia A. (Roller) Hoiles, Sr. Dave married Lou Ann Riffle on May 27, 1977, at the Wayne Church of Christ.
Surviving Dave is his loving wife of 48 years, Lou Ann; children, David (Natasha) Hoiles, Jr., Jennifer (Kyle) Holcomb, Kristina (Steve) Endicott, Andy (Paula) Hoiles; sisters, Dianne (Stephen) Holderman, Janet (Dan) Weaver; 17 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Patricia, and brothers, Robert, Jr., and Phillip.
Dave was a 1968 graduate of Elmwood High School and then worked many years as a Maintenance Manager and Machine Repair Technician at Atlas Crankshaft, Midwest Stamping, P & A Industries, and Whirlpool, among others. Faith and Religion was very important to Dave as he was a former member of the Wayne Church of Christ for 28 years, a current member of the First Church of God in Risingsun for the past 20 years and was very involved at both churches as an Elder and held various other positions. Dave had a love for old antique tractors, was a classic car enthusiast, and had a passion for music and singing. He enjoyed singing with a gospel group, Master's Men for 15 years. Dave always led by example, his greatest love in life was spending time with his family and attending all his children and grandchildren's activities, and he will always be remembered for his ability to fix anything and everything.
Friends will be received from 10:30 – 11 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the First Church of God in Risingsun, where a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Paul Rutledge officiating, with a bereavement dinner to follow. All arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne. Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of God in Risingsun or Bridge Hospice.
