David J. Hollenback, 80, of Plano, IL passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on July 9, 1945 in Sandwich, IL. The son of George and Sally (Severtson) Hollenback. David proudly served in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. David worked for All-Steel for many years. He was passionate about sports, in which he would travel frequently to attend games. He was fortunate enough to attend two Rose Bowl games when the University of Illinois played. He is survived by the love of his life Candis Larson; two sisters, Wilma Wales and Patricia (Bob) Furr and many much-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sally Hollenback; brother, George Jr. Hollenback and son, Jerry Hollenback. Cremation rites were entrusted to Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Millbrook United Methodist Church.
