David Loyd Holliday, 54, of Hewitt, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 26, 1971, in Naples, Texas, to Willard Loyd Holliday, Jr. and Carolyn Keith Holliday. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1990 and went on to become a co-owner of Swift Uniforms in Waco, Texas, where he worked alongside his family serving the community with dedication and integrity. David attended Heart of Texas Cowboy Church in Waco, TX. His church family and time in worship became increasingly meaningful to him, and he developed a deep desire to reflect Christ more intentionally in every area of his life.
David had a heart as big as his personality. He was a protector by instinct and a provider by conviction, fiercely loyal to those he loved. When someone was in need, he showed up. He fixed what he could and gave quietly when no one was looking. He believed everyone deserved a second chance and extended grace freely. His laughter filled rooms, but beneath it was a husband, father, Papa and friend who felt deeply and whose strength was anchored in compassion and tenderness.
David is survived by his wife, Skyla Holliday of Hewitt, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Hailey Holliday-Duprie and Dempsey Duprie of Hewitt, Texas; his sons, Keith Price and son-in-law, Kirby Ukens of Waskom, Texas, Keith Holliday of Dallas, Texas, and Craig Holliday of Dallas, Texas; his grandsons, Jack and Elijah Duprie of Hewitt, Texas; his mother, Carolyn Holliday of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Lessie Holliday of Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnnie and Lynn Barrett; his father, Willard Holliday; and his beloved daughter, Laurel Cross.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Heart of Texas Cowboy Church, 5101 Kendall Lane, Waco, Texas 76705, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Jeromy Connell will be officiating, with Elder Robert Leathers, Sharon Bergman, and Pastor Roberto Vergara sharing special remarks.
