David Holod of North Ridgeville, OH died suddenly on July 6, 2023. He was born in Charleroi, PA on July 28, 1949. Dave was a 1967 graduate of Montour High School and a proud alumni of Penn State University. He was an avid fan of Penn State football and Pittsburgh sports. He loved his home, many dogs and especially spending time with his family. Dave was a "Mr. Fix-It" as he had the ability to repair and build almost anything. He collected Lionel trains and enjoyed cars, motorcycles and fishing. He assisted in coaching local N. Ridgeville sports teams for several years. Dave worked for General Motors for over 30 years as a District Manager in Service/Sales.
Dave is survived by his wife, Joyce (Sabat); children, Sandee Tiller of N. Ridgeville, Sherrie Holod of Menlo Park, CA, and Mark Holod of Lakewood; granddaughter, Jordyn Holod; grandsons, Luke, Andrew and Jaret Tiller; brother, Robert Holod (Leslie Taylor) of Bullard, TX; sister-in-law of Gloria Sabat and brother-in-law of Lee Sabat (Karen) both of Kennedy Twp., PA. He was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Brian Holod; his parents, Walter Holod and Betty Lou (Johnston) Holod Lesh; and stepfather, George W. Lesh.
Family of Dave Holod will receive visitors on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 2-6pm at:
Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039. Eulogy/memorial at 6pm.
A reception will immediately follow at Ridgefield Rec Center 8700 Gatewood Dr., North Ridgeville, OH 44039. Visitors are encouraged to dress casually wearing Penn State, Pittsburgh Sports, or GM apparel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to West Shore Osteopathic Foundation to support the Graduate Medical Education program at UH St. John Medical Center (c/o the Holod family) or The Friendship APL, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria OH 44035.
