David was my best friend. I first met him in 1977 when he had a TV shop in Richland Hills Texas. I was in need of some parts to fix an old television and David had the part I needed. From that started a long friendship. I had just got my Amateur radio license. Eventually David got his. We went to a lot of hamfests together as well as sidewalk sales of Amateur radio and computers. We even built and sold IBM clone computers when that became the big thing to have.
David introduced me to RC airplanes and got me into it during a low point in my life when I needed something to get me through a tough time.
He has always been there for me. When my wife Kathleen was in the hospital with cancer, he came and sat with me and talked to me when I needed emotional support.
I am thankful for all of the years of friendship that I had with David.
My prayers for his wife Melody and all of his family during this difficult time.
