Services for David S. Howard, age 86 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 4, 2025, at New Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Collins and Rev. Grady Mimbs will officiate. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Howard was born November 21, 1938, in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Robert E. Howard and Pauline Shepard Howard. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Alice Howard and his two brothers, Thomas C. Howard and Randolph Howard. He was a 1956 graduate of Dexter High School where he played on the basketball team from 1954-1956. Mr. Howard was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching the Senior Sunday School Class. For 24 years, He drove the school bus for Laurens County Schools. For many years, he was an owner of Harlow Valley Packing Company. He also enjoyed working with his nephew, Danny Howard, owner of Mid Georgia Abstractors, Inc. Mr. Howard passed away at Fairview Park Hospital Monday, September 1, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Mr. Howard is survived by his daughter, Alicia (Chris) Howell of Dublin; a granddaughter, Krystle (Matt) McCranie of Dublin; 2 great-grandchildren, Kinsley McCranie and Ridge McCranie of Dublin; a sister, Lynda (Wendell) Adams of Dublin and several nephews.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Howard, Danny Howard, Trent Howard, Chris Howard, Matt McCranie and Jerry Griffin.

Mr. Howard's Sunday School Class at New Bethel Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
