David J. Howell

David J. Howell, cherished husband and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, in Kathleen, Georgia, at the age of 82. Services for David will be held privately, honoring his preference for modesty and the privacy of his family. In lieu of flowers or public expressions of condolence, the family invites those who wish to celebrate his memory to do so by nurturing nature and finding beauty in the everyday, just as David did throughout his life.
Born on December 25, 1941, in the vibrant city of Manhattan, New York, David's journey through life was marked by profound kindness and steadfast loyalty, traits that endeared him to all who knew him. His is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Howell and Maria Young Howell.
David served his country proudly in the United States Navy. David's academic pursuits led him to earn an Associate's Degree, which served as a foundation for his successful career in the computer industry. Throughout his career, he became known not only for his technical skills but also for his unwavering dedication and humble nature-qualities that made a significant impact on his colleagues and clients alike.
In his personal life, David was a devoted husband to Jacqueline G. Howell, his beloved wife of 43 years. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared interests, most notably their mutual enjoyment of nature. David found joy in the simple pleasures, particularly his love for feeding hummingbirds in his backyard. This pastime was a testament to his gentle soul and his affectionate connection to the world around him.
David is also survived by his brother, Dean (Judy) Howell; nieces: Andrea and Karyn, and a host of extended family.
David J. Howell will be lovingly remembered and missed by those fortunate enough to have shared in his journey. May his gentle spirit continue to inspire kindness and loyalty in all who knew him.
