David “Dave” Allen Icenogle, 73, Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 22, 2025, with his loving wife by his side after a short battle with cancer.
David was born November 17, 1952, Indianapolis, Indiana, to Robert and JoAnn Icenogle (Moore).
David marched to the beat of his own drum and found joy in simple pleasures. You could often find him casting a line, heading into the woods during hunting season, or getting lost in yet another Rocky Balboa movie that he could probably recite by heart. In his younger days you would often find him with a beer in hand busting a move on the dance floor. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix, and he was always tinkering or fixing another diamond in the rough. Through it all, the center of his world was his beloved wife, his constant companion and the love of his life, whom he cherished beyond measure.
David and Debra (Debbie) were married on July 13, 1985, in Mooresville, Indiana, surrounded by friends and family who gathered to celebrate the beginning of their life together. From that day forward, their marriage was a constant source of love, laughter, and support, and their wedding day remained a cherished memory throughout their years together.
He dedicated 30 years of his life as a tree trimmer, retiring at the age of 63.
David is survived by his wife, Debra “Debbie” Joy Icenogle (McCrady), Lucky (fur child); his sisters, Cheryl Burns, Suzie Buttz; uncle, Kenny Burgess; Brother-in-law, Pat McCrady (Theresa McCrady); nephews, Dustin Boutwell, Charles “Charlie Bob” Burns, David “Davey” Burns, Matthew McCrady; nieces, Jodi Dennamon (Burns), Holly McCrady, Nikki Jo McCrady, Angela Wilcurt (Buttz), Jennifer West (Buttz); great nephews, Caleb Burns, Cameron Burns, David Burns, Jacob Burns, Logan Burns, Robert “Robbie” Burns, Asher West, Ethan West, Ben Wilcurt; great nieces, Chloe Burns, Hannah Dennamon, Haley Dennamon, Haven Dennamon, Noella Jo McCrady, Gwen Wilcurt; great great nephews, Henry Burns, Karson Burns; great great nieces, Alice Burns, Aria Burns, Lilly Burns, and one more great great on the way.
