David Victor Janosek

David Victor Janosek (age 78),passed away on March 25, 2026, surrounded by his wife and three children. Born on May 20, 1947 to Victor and Carol Janosek, David went on to earn multiple medals while serving in the United States Army Special Forces. In addition to being a well-respected veteran, he was a true outdoors-man and a passionate music enthusiast. He was a one-of-a-kind son, husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.

David shared over fifty years of his life with his devoted wife, Nancy, and was a dear dad to Amanda, Amy and Adam. As a cherished grandpa, David also leaves behind Kyle, Jake, Luke, Avery, Emily, Elouise and Asher. Many more family and friends will deeply miss him.

The services to honor David will be held at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave.(55th street just west of Harlem), Summit, IL 60501. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 4 PM to 8 PM with funeral services starting promptly at 11 AM the next day. (Please plan to arrive early).

In lieu of flower, David's family welcomes donations for the Backcountry Hunters and Anglers' Armed Forces Initiative (AFI). In reflecting upon their dad's life, his children have chosen AFI based on his work and dedication in introducing the military community to public lands and waters with the goal of enhancing their mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being through community and conservation
