Walter "Sonny" Janosek V.

Walter V. (Sonny) Janosek 86 of East Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Thursday April 21, 2022. He was the loving husband of Joan M. (McCue) Janosek with whom he had celebrated 60 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, New York he was the son of Walter and Florence (Burton) Janosek.
Walter was a resident of the E. Stroudsburg area for the past 30 years and prior to that he resided in the Peekskill and Brooklyn, New York areas. He worked in the management department for the United Parcel Service for many years. He was a very active member of St. John's Catholic Church of E. Stroudsburg and he was an Airforce veteran.
In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by a son Michael Janosek and his wife Patricia of Hopewell Junction, N.Y. and 2 daughters: Joan Marie Losey and her husband Andrew of Fishkill, N.Y. and Elizabeth Jean Bartleson of E. Stroudsburg, Pa. three grandchildren: Matthew, Alexa and Kyle and a sister Florence Callahan of Staten Island, N.Y.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday May 3, 2022 at 10:00am at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Gregory A. Reichlen as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery Bushkill, Pa. The family will receive friends from 9:00am until the time of the Mass at the church. The Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9. St. Stroudsburg, Pa. is in charge of the arrangements.
