David LeRoy Jenison

David L. Jenison, 92, of Springfield, Oregon, passed away January 22, 2026. He was born July 14, 1933, in Long Beach, California, to Merle and Georgia (Tyo) Jenison.

David lived in the Springfield area most of his life. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, serving aboard aircraft carriers as an aviation structural mechanic, including duty on the USS Hancock and USS Kearsarge.

Following his military service, David worked in many occupations, but his longest and final career was in funeral service. He worked as an embalmer and funeral director for over 30 years in Oregon and served as a deputy coroner in Klamath Falls.

David enjoyed touring the United States on his motorcycle and camping along the way, spending many years traveling both with friends and on his own. He also enjoyed restoring furniture, doing mechanical repairs, and working with his hands-often describing himself as a "jack of all trades and master of none." He had a lifelong appreciation for classic cars and old motorcycles.

He is survived by his son, Dale Jenison, of Utah; his sister, Beverly Plum, of Eugene, Oregon; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Neil Jenison
