David Guy Johnstone, 68, of Vienna, Virginia, passed peacefully on March 7, 2025.
Dave was born December 16,1956, in Quantico, Virginia, the son of John H. Johnstone and Blanche Petty Johnstone. He grew up in Woodbridge and Manassas, Virginia, and moved to Vienna in 1995.
Dave graduated from Osbourn High School in 1975. He was passionate about anything that had an engine. He grew up playing sports and passed that love on to his children.
Dave married Pam Brumbaugh on December 31,1996, in Fairfax, Virginia. They have two children, Jessica "Jesse" Lee (25) and Joseph "Joey" David (22). Dave was beyond proud of the children he raised with Pam.
Dave was the sole proprietor of Dave Johnstone Contracting, Inc, a business he ran for over 40 years. His work will live on in many of his beloved friends and families' homes for years to come.
Dave loved his dirt bike, fixing cars, watching his children participate in sports, cheering on the Ravens and his garage, where he had 3 TVs to watch every game and race. He could fix anything for anyone. Dave loved his dogs. He had the ability to bring out the best in everyone.
Dave attended every dance recital, sporting event and graduation filled with pride and love for his children. He loved his wife and spent almost every evening in his garage with her and their dog Lilly and waving to and chatting with the neighbors as they passed by.
Remaining to cherish Dave's memory are his wife, Pam, their kids Jesse and Joey, his mother Blanche Johnstone and his sister Jonalu Johnstone, her partner Jane Powell and many cousins.
Preceding Dave in death are his father John Johnstone, and his brother, Robert Johnstone as well as his beloved dogs Huckleberry, Bo, Bart and Harley.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, 12pm at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna. Reception will be held at the Vienna Moose Lodge, after the service until 3:30pm. Dave always said, "My life is no fashion show," so please dress comfortably.
