David Kane Obituary

Rockbridge David C. Kane, age 83, of Rockbridge, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. David was born on December 4, 1942, in Lancaster, to John and Gleneth (Smith) Kane Jr. He enjoyed his career as a welder and he especially enjoyed making wood stoves. Dave loved to hunt mushrooms. He was very creative and artistic and demonstrated that in his woodworking and metalwork. In July 2026, he would have celebrated his 62nd anniversary with his wife, Caroline.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline (Cavinee) Kane; daughters, Jan (Tim) Noice, and Julie (Mike) Landfried, both of Rockbridge; sister-in-law, Juanita Kane, of Laurelville; cousin, Twila (Tom) Huber, of Baltimore; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Wesley Kane III, Robert Kane, and Gary Kane Sr.; sister, Judy Kane.

At Dave's request, a celebration of his life will held at the convenience of his family. Cremation has been arranged in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral & Cremation Service, Amanda.
