David John Kaser, of Carmel, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by family at the age of 60. He was born in South Bend, IN on January 10, 1964, son of David L. and Karen L. (Peterson) Kaser.
As a 1982 graduate of Washington High School, David continued his education at Ball State University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1986. His career began at North American Van Lines in sales, from there his sales career advanced to multiple corporations and most recently enjoyed 11 rewarding years with Dell Technologies.
David was a devoted, loving, loyal, joyful person with an incredible zest for life. He loved to travel, including multiple trips to Europe. He was always active, completing two Spartan Races and enjoyed his time as a member of CrossFit Indianapolis. He enjoyed playing softball, hunting with his dad and cousins, and working in his yard.
David loved all things sports. He coached all his children in youth sports and Dad's Club soccer for over 15 years. He loved to watch his daughter play Purdue Soccer. He was a proud Cub's Season Ticket Holder and loved spending time at Wrigley Field.
He vacationed in the summers at Star Lake in Dent, Minnesota, his favorite place in the world. At the lake he was an avid fisherman, loved to water ski, and spent his days on the sandbar listening to Steve Miller Band. If he wasn't at the lake, he would be in his mancave - Tenacious Brewhouse - enjoying craft beer or bourbon with dear friends.
Above all else, he loved his family. He never met a stranger, had no enemies, and had a million friends. His memory will be cherished, and he will be greatly missed.
David was diagnosed with appendix cancer in March 2023. He received care at Mayo Clinic and IU Health. Most recently, he participated in a clinical trial at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, contributing to research to create better treatment options for patients with appendix cancer in the future. He was tenacious in his battle over the past year. David John Kaser peacefully departed on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by family at the age of 60.
In addition to his mother, David was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tim Patena; Uncle John Peterson; as well as aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Cindy Kaser; son, Kevin McCammack; daughters, Erin McCammack, Megan (Sam) Dorsa, Allison Kaser; father, Dave Kaser; sister, Deann Patena; niece, Claire Patena; granddaughter, Dorsa (expected July 2024); and many great friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family and Friends will gather Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 4-7 pm in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Friday, April 26 at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of David, be given to the Appendix Cancer Research Foundation, or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Merciful Help Center.
Envelopes will be available at the church.
