David Gene Keener, 88, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, surrounded by love and warmth. Born on August 3, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, David lived a life full of adventures and cherished moments, sharing special times between the beautiful shores of Marblehead and the sunny waters of Big Pine Key, Florida.
A dedicated automotive supervisor at General Motors, David was known for his diligent work ethic and commitment to excellence. He found immense joy in the company of his family, particularly in the laughter and love of his grandchildren, Kyle, Rachael, and Ryan. Their treasured memories together-from boating and tubing to thrilling days spent at Cedar Point-will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Jane, along with his children, Patricia, David, and Carolyn. He leaves behind an extended family including grandsons Kevin, Kyle, and Ryan; granddaughters Claudia and Rachael; and seven great-grandchildren who filled his life with delight. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy; his Aunt Lucy; and several cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy; his daughter, Joyce; his parents; and his brothers, Richard and Jim (Mae), as well as his Uncle James.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Deb S. and the compassionate team at Heartland Hospice for their exceptional care during this difficult time.
A Celebration to honor David's life will be held at a later date, with gatherings planned in both Ohio and Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting the kindness and generosity David imparted throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
