David Roy Kendall, of Ovid, Colorado, passed away on January 16, 2026.
David was born July 21, 1943, in Rupert, Idaho, to Roy and Marion (Moffitt) Kendall. He attended high school in Othello, Washington. Following graduation, David enlisted in the United States Army in 1965. David served his country honorably, including 13 months in Vietnam, and completed 11 years of military service before his discharge in 1976.
In 1975, David met his wife, Janet Harshberger, and they married the following year. Together, they made their home in Minnesota. David worked in the plastics manufacturing industry until the early 1990s. He later transitioned into custodial work in the school system, a role he held for the next 15 years.
After an injury from a work-related fall, David and Janet relocated 4.5 years ago to Ovid, Colorado. There, they found peace and contentment in a slower pace of life. David enjoyed the outdoors, including camping, fishing, hiking, and spending time with family. He was an avid bowler and loved playing in leagues. He picked up cross-stitch and made many pillow cases. He loved eagles and always had to spot them. He loved all of his children/grand children immensely.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Roy, and siblings Lionel, Charles, and Betty Lou.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Kendall of Ovid; children, DiSean (Jamie) Kendall, David J. (Cherie) Kendall, Daniel Kendall, Jesse (Dana) Kendall, and Rebecca (John) Steeves; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild with another on the way; and his sister, Joan Kendall.
No services are planned at this time. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date.
