GLENN B. WEAVER Jr. of Julesburg, passed away February 2, 2026, at his daughter's home in St. Johns, Michigan.

Glenn was born on November 25, 1931, in Ithaca, MI, to Glenn and Burdene (Schaub) Weaver. Glenn was raised on the family farm in St. Johns, MI. In February of 1955, Glenn entered the US Army and was in the 11th Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. While in service, in addition to serving as a 1st-class gunner and a paratrooper, he participated in 11 boxing matches and remained undefeated. He also made 30 successful parachute jumps. Following his discharge in 1957, he returned home and began working at Diamond Reo Trucking Company as a plant foreman while simultaneously working his parents' farm after his father's passing. He took great pride in the fact that no truck left Diamond Reo with any flaws, and the chrome shone bright. Throughout his career, he excelled as a problem solver, cut unnecessary waste, and achieved peak performance.

A few years later, Glenn married Judith "Judy" Gibbs on July 3, 1960, beginning a marriage that spanned more than six decades. Together, they were blessed with two children, Anne and Tim.

Glenn and Judy raised their family on their farm in St. Johns, Michigan. In 1980, after the kids were grown, they moved to Mesa, Arizona, where they lived for a time before leaving Arizona, traveling from Texas to Canada doing custom wheat harvesting, which eventually led them to set roots down in Julesburg, Colorado, and worked for the Carlson Ranch Company.

Glenn's values of working hard, taking pride in a job well done, loyalty, and honesty were passed down to his children. He and Judy shared an appreciation for the prairie and rural life that came with ranching. After Judy passed away, Glenn would eventually return to St. Johns, MI, where he was closer to family.

Glenn loved to share his childhood memories with others through stories of growing up during the Depression. His upbringing forged a deep respect for God, patriotism, land, nature, and family, and an integrity that made his firm handshake a binding contract. He was discerning, with some in the family likening him to Solomon. He would listen to both sides of an argument and act with wisdom, allowing others to make their own determinations.

A quiet and observant man, Glenn was a straight shooter who called things as he saw them. But when asked, he gave you the hard truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not. Glenn loved getting a good deal, be it a vehicle, cattle, or an antique that caught his eye. When purchasing a truck, he always told the salesman to have several sharpened pencils with good erasers ready, and had no problem walking away, which wasn't very often!

Glenn had a penchant for sweets, especially his nightly vanilla ice cream, even better when served with a slice of cherry pie.

Dad loved watching football, especially the Denver Broncos and the Detroit Lions, the rodeo, the PBR, and saddling up his horse, Cowboy, and riding the land with his wife.

Glenn was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Julesburg.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and soulmate, Judy, who passed away in September 2021; his parents, siblings, Grace (Suzy), Janice, Bill, Bob, Eileen, Joseph, and Diana.

Survivors include his children, Anne Weaver of St. Johns, Michigan, and Tim (Dena) Weaver of Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren, Sara, Josh, Glen, and Garrett; great-grandchildren, Khaleesi, Logan, and Lincoln; sister Milene Tews of DeWitt, Michigan; sister-in-law, Nancy (Thomas) Thelen of Lyons, Michigan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Memorials have been established in Glenn's memory to any of the following Julesburg Public Library, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Sedgwick County 4-H, or Tunnel 2 Towers.
