David R. 'Dave' King, 53, of Washington Township, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, in Leeper, PA. Born November 28, 1970, in New Kensington, He was the son of William King and Halanie (Bortz) Vatter. Dave was a 1988 graduate of Kiski Area High School, was employed by National Roll for many years, and worked at Kiski Precision Industries as a Machinist. He enjoyed building and racing r/c cars, going to his camp in Leaper, PA., he was currently restoring his camp. He is preceded in death by his father William 'Bill' King; father-in-law, James E. Snyder. Dave is survived by his wife of 21 years, Elizabeth A. (Snyder) King; mother Halaine L. (Bortz) Vatter of Saltsburg; stepfather Joe Vatter of Saltsburg; stepbrothers, Jason Vatter, and Matthew Vatter; mother-in-law, Ruth Snyder; sister-in-law Jennifer (Robert) Sartain; his puppy, Suzy Q; and numerous other family members and friends. Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the hour of service at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, with Pastor Phillip Ramstad officiating.
