David Knoth, affectionately known as "Dave," was born on November 5, 1971, in Brunswick, Georgia. He passed away on February 5, 2026, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, after a courageous battle with illness. Throughout his life, David exemplified kindness and determination, ultimately becoming a celebrated mechanic and cherished family member.

David's journey into the world of mechanics began early, learning the nuances of truck spring work from his father. He further honed his skills by taking online classes to become a service technician for power equipment. Known for his exceptional problem-solving abilities, he earned the respect of his colleagues and friends alike.

Educated at Wayland Union High School, David was not only an industrious learner but also a fun-loving individual whose spirit resonated with those around him. He created myriad fond memories throughout his life, including playful days of building bike ramps with his brothers and nurturing an enduring affection for animals, particularly dogs. His passion for creativity was evidenced by his unique hobby of collecting rocks, crafting them into beautiful necklaces and crosses.

David was fiercely devoted to his family, and his love for his children was profound. He was a kind-hearted person who took immense pride in being a father to Kayla and Steven Knoth. The connections he cultivated extended beyond immediate family, as he maintained long-lasting friendships that enriched his life. Those who knew him can attest to his ability to light up a room with his presence and warmth.

Despite facing health challenges, including a victorious battle against cancer and a heart valve replacement, David remained a fighter until the very end. His tenacity serves as an inspiration to all who knew him.

David is survived by his loving father, David W. Knoth; his mother, Ellen Perez; stepfather, Abel Perez; brother, Mike Knoth; daughter, Kayla Knoth; son, Steven Knoth; as well as many nieces, nephews, step-siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and second-generation nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erwin and Eugenia Knoth, Paul and Lucy Adams; his brother, Amos Knoth; uncles Wayne, Jim, Gene Knoth, and Larry Stockwell; and nephew Mathew Burklow.

As we remember Dave, we celebrate a man who approached life with humor, love, and resilience. His legacy will be carried on by the many who loved him, and he will be truly missed by all.
