David A. Korenstein, 88, of Gulph Mills, PA, passed away on Tuesday December 2nd, 2025.
Born in Rochester, NY, to Celia and Jack Korenstein, Dave attended the University of Rochester and MIT, and was married to Susan Korenstein for 64 years.
Dave worked for GE Aerospace (later Martin Marietta and then Lockheed Martin) for the majority of his career, and pioneered systems engineering methods for incorporating new imaging technologies in low Earth orbit satellites, especially the Landsat program. In his early career, he worked on the Apollo moon landing program.
Dave was an active member of several synagogues in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. He was a round dancer and square dancer, and a radio controlled, model-airplane enthusiast.
Besides his wife Sue, Dave leaves three children: Jeff, Cathy, and Lonnie, and their spouses Sandy, Ken and Josh, as well as eight grandchildren.
The funeral was held in Rochester, NY, on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his memory forever be a blessing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Dave's memory be made to a Jewish charity of their choice.
