David F. Kosek

Cocca, Fla.--David F. Kosek, 70, of Cocoa, Florida, passed away on Christmas Day.

He was born on April 13, 1955, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Paul and Fanny Kosek.

David spent most of his adult life in Youngstown, Ohio. He was a 1973 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, studied at Youngstown State University, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science in Computer Information Systems. He worked for many years at RMI Titanium Company LLC in Niles, Ohio, where he eventually retired. After moving his family to Florida in 2013, David continued working in the computer information systems field and later settled in Cocoa, Florida.

Music was a lifelong passion for David. He loved singing, playing bass guitar, and entertaining audiences as part of several local country rock bands, including Badlands, Spoke Norton and the Wheelies, The James Paul Band, and House Arrest. David took his passion for music to Nashville for a short time, a dream he was proud to have pursued. In time, music took a back seat to what mattered most to him-his daughters and his role as a devoted father.

David was a generous soul who never met a stranger. He was always willing to give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

David is survived by his daughters, Abbie and Alyssa of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and Quinn of Warren, Ohio; his sisters, Concetta "Chetty" Miller-Gordon (Lowell Gordon), Flo Porter (Al D'Altorio), and Marianne "Zooch" Kosek, all of Youngstown, Ohio; seven nieces; five nephews; seven great-nieces; fourteen great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul S. Kosek; his mother, Fanny Kosek; his brother, Paul S. Kosek; and his nephew, Christopher Kosek.

Family and friends may call at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home on Sunday, February 15, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., concluding with a short service. Burial blessings will be held for the family only on Monday, February 16, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Lake Park Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
