Bellefonte, Pennsylvania - David "Kosey" Kosman, 76, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on January 1, 1946, in Lewistown, PA, he was the son of the late Jack and Grace (Curry) Kosman. On December 22, 1965, in Lewistown, he married his beloved wife, Sharon J. (Watson) Kosman, who survives him at home after sharing nearly 57 years of marriage together.
David was a 1964 graduate of Lewistown Area High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army four years after high school. Directly after his time in the service, he took the management position of Krentzman Supply in State College. He was employed by Krentzman Supply from the time that they opened until his retirement on April 14, 2014.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, he is survived by a daughter, Susan Kosman Benner (Rodney) of Bellefonte, four grandchildren, Zachary David, Chase Michael, Conner Matthew Kosman, and Lauren Kathleen Benner, and three great grandchildren, Colton Ray, Ava Lei, and Lyla Grace. Also surviving is a brother, Joseph Kosman (Holly) of Lewistown, and his niece, Angela Hock of Fort Mills, South Carolina.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a son, David Kosman, II, on January 31, 2001.
David was an active member of the Bellefonte Lions Club, Bellefonte Moose Lodge #206, Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094, and The Hard Hunters Camp. He was part owner, with the other members of the Lions Club, of The Sea Lions townhouse in Ocean City, Maryland. He loved vacationing with his children and grandchildren. As an avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed hunting and fishing, whether he was fishing locally, deep sea, or fishing from the beach. In his younger years, he looked forward to going to camp to hunt, but in his older years, he looked more forward to hanging out, playing cards, and socializing with his friends and family. He and his best friend, Joe Ray, could often be found chatting for hours on the porch. You could always count on hearing him cheer on Penn State and the Steelers! More than anything, he loved his grandchildren and treasured the time that he was able to spend with them. A loving husband, a compassionate dad, an adoring Pap, and a loyal friend, David leaves behind endless memories that his loved ones will forever cherish.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
