David Ricky Kott (Rick) age 71 of Manistee, MI, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on September 9,1954 in Manistee, MI and was the son of the late David E. Kott and Joanne M. (Harthun) Kott. Rick graduated from Manistee High School. Rick married Susan J. Guenther on June 15, 1991 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Onekama, MI.
Most of his life, Rick was a machine operator for Gentz Forestry Products, then later retired from The Little River Casino. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, maintaining his yard and activities within his church.
Rick is survived by his wife, Sue Kott; best friend (fur- baby), Nella; children, Wendy Kott, James (Courtney) Jarvis, Lisa M. Jarvis-Echols, Jessica (Scott) McCain and three additional children; grandchildren, Zach, Devin, Isaac, Adriana, Jordan, Morgan, Caiden, Jarred, Alyssa, Mason, Brayden, Evan, Gage, Ava, Kaleb & additional grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; mother, Joanne M. Kott and brother, Bill Kott. Rick is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Sue and Rick's beloved son, Cody Ricky Kott; his father, David E. Kott; brother, Todd A. Kott; father & mother in law; William A. & Dorothy M. Guenther.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday , September 17, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee with Pastor Dennis Rahn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 noon until time of service. Cremation will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
