David Ray Kropp, 76, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday February 24, 2026, at LB Broen Home under the care of Moments Hospice.
David was born January 02, 1950, in Wahpeton, North Dakota to Ray and Beatrice (Shebeck) Kropp. He grew up in Wahpeton and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1968. He attended NDSSS and graduated from Auto Body Program.
On September 27, 1969, he married Ginger Grenz. They moved to Hillsboro, North Dakota for a year and then moved to Fergus Falls.
David worked at Minnesota Motors in the auto body shop and became the auto body shop manager. He retired in 2010.
David loved fishing. He spent many Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends at Holly's Resort on Ottertail Lake. He also enjoyed an annual fishing trip to Canada with the guys he graduated from high school with. He was always on the hunt for the "big one". He made several fishing trips to Alaska, Florida and Costa Rica.
He also enjoyed spending winters in Mazatlán, Mexico. David enjoyed entertaining family and friends in Mexico and was famous for his specialty, peel and eat shrimp. Oh, and of course there was fishing. He loved taking early morning fishing trips and later having everyone over for a fish fry.
David was always fixing things around the house. These fixes always involved glue, caulking, paint and sometimes tape.
He was an avid Twins, Vikings and RedHawks fan.
David is survived by his wife, Ginger, and their daughter, Yvette (Scott) Oppegaard of Moorhead, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Beatrice Kropp; sister, Joann Nelson; and brother, Richard.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. with the service beginning at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moments Hospice or LB Broen Home.
