David George Kudla, 84, of Murrysville, PA, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 24, 1940, in Braddock, PA, son of the late George and Mary (Malinich) Kudla.
Twenty-five years ago, in August of 2001, Dave married the love of his life, Shirley (Maroscho) Brahim. He called her his Lady, a reference to the Lady and the Tramp. He found his "home" in Shirley. Dave was a simple man's man in every good sense of the word. He loved working on his house and yard. There wasn't a project he couldn't tackle, just as long as there was an unlit cigar in his mouth. It was his signature trademark. He loved hosting parties for family and friends, celebrating birthdays, milestone events, holidays, or nothing in particular. He lived for having his family around him. Summer porch parties and a "winner take all" game of Texas Hold 'em were common. He loved family and was often heard telling people, "We hug."
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Maroscho) Kudla; three children, Daniel (Julie) Kudla, Michael Kudla, Christine Hudak; seven grandchildren, Caiden, Elijah, Paul III (Courtney), Baylie, Jaydin, Levi, Mia; three stepchildren, Paul (Patti) Brahim, Phillip (Lori) Brahim, Peter (Dana) Brahim; 10 step-grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Elizabeth (Ryan), Justin (Sarah), Patrick, Madison, Matthew, Cody, Jeffrey, Brooke; and three step-great-grandchildren, Noah, Lilia, and Aurianne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, by visiting www.stjude.org. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Monongahela Cemetery of North Braddock. For online condolences, please visit www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com.
