David Kyle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hostetler Funeral Home on Feb. 9, 2026.
David A. Kyle, 76, passed from this life Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at WV Caring Hospice in Elkins. He had been in declining health since 2021.

David, a lifelong resident of Hendricks, was born on Thursday, March 10, 1949, to the late John Fredrick Kyle and Alice Catherine Roy Kyle in Parsons.

On July 14, 1973, David was married to Barbara "Joyce" Plumley who survives. They had celebrated fifty-two years of marriage.

Left to cherish David's memory besides his wife is one son, Keith (Rebecca) Kyle, one daughter, Amy Lynn (Rich) Hunt, one granddaughter, Taylor (Jake) McNeice, one grandson, Tanner Gatto, two great grandchildren, Levi and Lydia McNeice, one step-grandson, Josh Hunt, one brother, Robert (Jan) Kyle, and one sister, Patricia (Don) Heeren.

David attended the schools of Tucker County and had been employed by the former Parsons Tannery, the former Mullenax Lumber Company, Kingsford Charcoal and several construction outfits of Mt. Storm. In 1989, he was hired by the Tucker County Commission as a maintenance supervisor where he served for twenty-five years before retiring in 2014.

David was an avid outdoorsman and a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke. He never saw a stranger and was always willing to help others.

Proud to be called father, grandfather, and great grandfather, David loved his family very much. He enjoyed spending time with them during holidays and get togethers in the garage along with his friends that would join in too.

David's request for cremation will be honored. A celebration of his life will be held later.
