I just learned of Coach Lawrence´s passing tonight. I was fortunate to have coached football and taught with him for many years at Gulliver Prep. He was an excellent, demanding, and intense old-school offensive line coach; the type who are much needed today. More importantly, Coach Lawrence was a fine and moral person who was dedicated to the athletes that he coached and the students that he taught.
My deepest sympathies to Wynn, his family, and his friends.

Coach Lawrence made me stay after football practice so he can show me more about the game and so I can improve as a player, on his own time. He believed in me and told me my talents were too good to go to waste. Never forgot this gesture by this great man who inspired this little Cuban boy. Rest in Peace Coach!

It saddens me to hear that Coach "Spanky" Lawrence passed on but so thankful knowing that he is in a much better place in heaven. I will always be grateful for his fatherly ways of coaching and teaching - moreover, how he lead by example and how to be a man of God. See you once again, Coach!

To many he was Coach Lawrence. To me he was the best AP Chem professor. Our class was at 6:30 am so he made an extra sacrifice so that I could take the class and still be in the special choral ensemble as well. He never complained and still coached in the heat in the afternoons. He believed in me as a little Haitian descent girl and helped me get to college then to medical school. He also loved the Lord. He was a jokester too! My deepest condolences and much love from me to Wynn and the family.
